Froud's Faery Oracle Cards

I originally started this blog to explore faery card decks....specifically The Faery's Oracle cards but then I started a more general blog about cards and moved my faery card stuff there and was using this primarily for ALL things faery...but ...as you can see I haven't been posting here much....So I am planning to do my weekly post featuring one of Froud's faeries (either from a card or one of his many books.  I also have other faery decks but Froud's are by far my favorite....they are just so ....real.

 

They are just so delish!  The images evoke strange feelings of mischief and adventure, the descriptions of the fae are spot on and yet open ended enough to allow ones own imagination to carry the faery stories on and on.  This was my very first oracle deck and I fell in love with them immediately. I think they have been feeling a bit neglected in their silky bag. It's time to invite "my friends" here to Faery Dust and Faery Kisses to visit a bit!

 

 

February Focus: For the Love of Faeries

For February I will be making a faery wish bag and a faery charm. It will work like this...

I will write a wish on a piece of paper and then I will draw a faery card. The card is to be the faery that can most help me with my wish...I will write the faery's name and a personal message to the faery on the wish sheet. Then tuck it into the samll bag.

Then I will create a faery charm for this faery...thinking about the faery, their likes, dislikes etc...I haven't decided yet if it will be on a piece of ribbon or in a small pouch but I am leaning toward the little bag...

I will do the wish of February first...and come back with more details....

My card for today is Himself...my one word intuitive is LIFE....

Card #1 Unity

Actually the 0 Card is the first card in this deck, it is a blank card designed for each user to created their own personal faery guide....mine is Dragonfly and I will need to take a picture of my 0 Card to post here. It is a simple black sketch of a Dragonfly but it serves the purpose well as my own faery guide. It is actually one of my favorite cards.....BUT on to Card #1 Unity.

CARD #1 UNITY My one word intuitive: ONE

The Unity card is what I think of as the God card or the Higher Spirit Card. It is the oneness we all came from the beginning, the creation. It reminds us that we are all of one body, like pieces of a puzzle that fit together to make the whole. The Unity card is full of positive energy and can promote real growth. In a reading, it remind us to center and become one with others and the universe.

The Faeries Oracle

Hi everyone...that is if anyone is still reading...blogging has taken a back seat lately to lots of other "stuff." Right now I am in the process of SEVERAL projects....and working with the Faeries Oracle cards intuitively is BIG on my list...The book is fabulous but sometimes there is so much there that I become befuddled. So since this is JUNE...and Faery Day will soon be here...I am devoting the month of June to the cards!!!

Here is the project....my quest so to speak....I have been reading the cards intuitively...trying as much as possible to ignore the book unless I am totally stuck...I have been working with the first word that comes to mind when I turn the card over...for example Faeries of the Future prompted....Promises....what a great word!! So between now and the end of the month...I want to intuitively assign one word to each of the 66 cards....I have probably about a dozen or so done already...THEN....I will be sharing each card and it's word here at Faery Dust and Faery Kisses....along of course with other ramblings...LOL

Of note to those interested in the Faeries Oracle...Brian Froud has a new oracle due out in ...hmmm I believe the Spring of 2010....Jessica Macbeth is not the co author this time but instead it is Brian's wife.....I am VERY anxious to get a peek at any cards and to actually get this deck in my hands! So for now I am learning the deck I have backwards and forwards as pre-prep for the new deck!!
